Increased Holiday Patrols

12/05/2016

In an effort to curtail holiday season criminal activity, Sheriff David Jones has assigned plain clothed investigators in unmarked vehicles to patrol throughout the county.  These efforts so far have produced three (3) felony arrests, the recovery of stolen property from burglaries, the seizure of illegal narcotics, and the arrest of wanted subjects.  These efforts will continue through the holiday season to suppress criminal activity in our county.

On December 1, 2016, KEVIN DON LASSITER was arrested on an outstanding Parole Warrant and was found in possession of a loaded firearm during the arrest.  LASSITER was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.  LASSITER was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a 3rd Degree Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, >= 1gram < 4grams, a 3rd degree felony, and arrested on the Parole warrant.

On December 2, 2016, ROBERT WAYNE BLEDSOE was arrested on a Parole Warrant by Tom Green County Deputies who observed BLEDSOE operating a vehicle.  AMBER MICHELLE WEBB,  a passenger in the vehicle operated by BLEDSOE,  also had an outstanding Parole Warrant.  During the inventory of the vehicle being operated by BLEDSOE, Deputies found in excess of 38 grams of methamphetamine secreted in a false compartment in the vehicle along with digital scales and materials used in the distribution of  illegal drugs and a reported stolen firearm.   Deputies also seized cash money in excess of $1,000.00 in the possession of BLEDSOE.  BLEDSOE was arrested on the Parole Warrant and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, >4 grams < 200 grams a 1st degree felony.  WEBB was arrested on a charge of Tamper or Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, a 3rd degree felony.

During the inventory of BLEDSOE’s vehicle, a number of stolen items were found in the vehicle that was believed to have been taken in recent burglaries.  Deputies were able to confirm some of the items were in fact stolen in recent burglaries and in one case found items stolen in a burglary that had not been discovered or reported to that date.  Investigators are still in the process of attempting to identify the rightful owners of the remaining stolen items.
