Escapee

On September 6, 2017, at 7:51 p.m., a Tom Green County correction officer observed through video surveillance a line of trustees being escorted back to the barracks.  An inmate bolted from the line of inmates being escorted, scaled a wall and was able to escape the jail perimeter.  A search of the area was immediately initiated by the San Angelo Police Department and Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.  A perimeter was established in an effort to confine and apprehend the escapee.

At 8:22 p.m. a San Angelo Police Department canine alerted to a location a block north of the jail where the escapee, Tyler Frank Corley, was hidden.  Officers of the San Angelo Police Department and Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Corley without incident and transported him back to the Tom Green County Jail. 

Corley will be charged with escape, a third degree felony. 

On August 15, 2017 Corley was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for the following offence:
