On May 31, 2020 at approximately 2:30 a.m. the Tom Green County Sheriffs Office and Texas Department of Public Safety were dispatched to a hit-and-run vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on U.S. Highway 67S.  

Through investigation it was determined Jesus G. Lopez of Las Cruces, New Mexico was walking northbound in the southbound lane of Hwy 67 when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle.  The crash occurred approximately two miles south of the city limits of San Angelo shortly before units were dispatched.  

The suspected vehicle may be a white or light in color SUV or pickup with a grille guard.  Upon leaving the scene, the vehicle continued travelling southbound towards Mertzon.  The suspected vehicle is believed to have front end damage.
