BARRICADED FUGITIVE CAPTURED AFTER FALL THROUGH CEILING
A two-day search for Joe Lucio, 40 YOA, of San Angelo, concluded earlier today when deputies entered a residence in a home off Gregory Drive and took him into custody after he had barricaded himself inside the home. At approximately 11:05 AM this morning, deputies observed Lucio outside a residence in the 1400 block of Gregory Drive. Lucio, wanted for State Bail Jumping and Failure to appear on Felony firearm charges, fled into the residence and refused to respond to deputies' efforts for him to surrender himself.
The Tom Green County Special Response Team entered the residence and determined that Lucio had secreted himself inside the attic of the residence. Deputies dispensed chemical munitions into the attic, and Lucio subsequently fell partially through the ceiling of the residence in his attempt to shield himself from the chemical. Deputies took him into custody without incident from that point. He is now in the Tom Green County Detention Center.
The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the San Angelo Police Department, Texas DPS, and the FBI for their assistance in apprehending this suspect.
