SHERIFF'S OFFICE EXECUTES SEARCH AND ARREST WARRANT TO APPREHEND EVASIVE FUGITIVE

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT) successfully executed a high-risk search warrant at 216 N. Bishop in San Angelo, leading to the arrest of fugitive Steven A. West, 43 YOA, of San Angelo.   West, who was actively evading law enforcement for Felon in Possession of a Firearm charges and other offenses, was considered a flight risk and was taken into custody without incident.

The operation took place following a coordinated investigation by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division. Due to the nature of the case and West's criminal history, the SRT was deployed to ensure the safety of the public and officers involved.

He was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center, where he awaits further legal proceedings.

Sheriff Nick Hanna commended the professionalism and precision of the SRT and investigators involved. "This operation is a testament to the dedication of our team and their commitment to keeping our community safe."

The Sheriff's Office extends its appreciation to the San Angelo Police Department for its assistance in the operation.
