Tomas Tellez - Suspect

In the continuing effort to dismantle an organized crime ring, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office executed a dual search warrant on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

The search warrant was simultaneously executed in the 1300 block of E 28th Street and the 4000 block of Herbert Road in San Angelo.  Both properties were associated with San Angelo resident Tomas Tellez.

During the execution of the search warrant, Sheriff's Office Investigators recovered stolen equipment, trailers, and firearms.  Other stolen items that were seized included a backhoe, skid steer, six trailers, two utility vehicles, firearms, and a suppressor.  Following the execution of the search warrant, investigators garnered new information that led to the recovery of additional stolen items, including a welder, a trailered compressor, and another utility tractor.

The suspect, Tomas Tellez (44yoa) of San Angelo, was arrested on February 13, 2024, for Theft Property >=$150K<$300K, a second-degree felony.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, Homeland Security Investigations, and Border Patrol for their assistance in executing the search warrant.

This remains an open investigation and the Sheriff's Office is still actively trying to identify more stolen property.  As of this date, the Sheriff's Office has recovered or was instrumental in recovering a reported $380,000 worth of stolen property from Tom Green and surrounding counties.  As the investigation continues, additional charges may be forthcoming.
